Amrit S Maan is a fourth generation Seven Dials resident and businessman. His family first arrived in London in 1936 and moved to Covent Garden in 1951. He owns the Punjab, Covent Garden, the UK’s first and oldest Punjabi Indian restaurant, founded by his great grandfather in 1946. Amrit's background is in law and he is a qualified solicitor, specializing in the fields of diversity and inclusion. He currently provides pro bono legal advice in his spare time. Amrit is an active philanthropist supporting homeless, heritage and military charities. He has management consultancy experience and has worked for the Mayor of London. Amrit holds an MBA from Cranfield University and a MA in World Comparative Religions. He is a regular guest speaker on BBC Radio Oxford's 'Sunday Reflections' and is a public speaker on business, faith and diversity. In 2019, Amrit was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in recognition of his contribution to Arts and Diversity. He was awarded an OBE for his services to charity and community in the 2022 New Year's Honours List.
